I’m interested, maybe I will see it in a theater, or wait for the DVD. I’m not sure yet. For those who have seen it, what’s your opinion, is it good?

The era of private space exploration has begun. Is it:
I feel enthusiast today, and also a little afraid, with a bit of nostalgia for the space shuttle. And you?
In Star Trek, the spaceships fights often look like a naval war. But sea ships against aliens? I find this absurd theme amusing. Sometimes, I’m in the mood to watch a light film, but I have a limited budget and I’m more interested by other films this year. So, I’ll wait to rent Battleship on DVD at low price or to watch it on tv.
And you? Are you going to see it? Have you seen it?
I will see it tonight. The super heroes of my childhood in a film written by Joss Whedon, I’m really interested. I’m curious to see these characters together with their different personalities and powers. Curiously, in our little local theater, The Cabin in the Woods is also presented this week. This is Whedon on 2 screens out of 3.
And you, are you going to see The Avengers?
Personally, I have some curiosity for it, but I have already seen a lot of dystopian futures in fiction, so I’m not sure if this film is original enough for me. I will probably wait for the DVD or check the book if it’s available at my public library.
And you, readers, did you like the film?
I gave my answer in the precedent post. Did you like it a little, a lot, were disappointed, bored or else?
Today, the first big budget movie adaptation of A Princess of Mars is released (the only other version, I believe, is a cheap direct-to-DVD movie from last year). This is a nice release date: 2012, 100 years after the publication of the story, March, like the planet, and 9, a significant number in the book.
I read this novel, a long time ago. I liked it a lot, but I forgot many details. I’m going to see the film tonight. To keep more surprise, I didn’t read any review. The first trailer looks nice (I didn’t watch the others), but trailers don’t say all. John Carter could be epic, fun or a disaster. I will know soon!
And you, are you going to see John Carter?
Just for fun, the first to give the good answer wins!
In which sci-fi movie of the 90’s there are two actors (or actresses) who won the Oscar for best actor or actress (before or after this film) and an actor (or actress) nominated this year for an Oscar ?
The Phantom Menace 3D in theaters this week
I would be a little curious to see the best scenes in 3D, the film has nice settings and costumes and some good fights, but there are things I prefer to forget, like the poor dialogues, a certain annoying character (I dare not name it) or the bizarre origins of a popular robot (first image).
And you, are you going to see The Phantom Menace 3D?
In Blade Runner (1982, inspired from a 1966 novel), Deckard is a Blade Runner hunting replicants in a dark world ravaged by pollution.
In Logan’s Run (1976, inspired from a 1967 novel), Logan 5 is a Sandman hunting Runners (people over 30 fleeing a ritual called the Carrousel ) in an apparently bright and carefree world.
There are projects of sequel or remake for these films. My (bad) suggestion for Hollywood: to mix these two universes in one reboot: Blade Runner vs Sandman.
Deckard believes Logan 5 is a replicant and hunts him. Logan 5 hunts Deckard because he is too old. Who will win? Will they kill each other? How this movie could end?
