1. The Return of the Tripeds (Amazing Stories, May 1932), story by Neil R. Jones
I found these strange boxes with tentacles, on several Amazing Stories covers, very mysterious.
I learned more about them:
““The Jameson Satellite” is the first in a long series about Professor Jameson, an Earthman who dies and has his body placed in a rocket that orbits the earth (the satellite of the title). His body is found by the Zoromes, cyborg creatures with mechanical bodies but living brains. They medically save Jameson and make him into a cyborg as well. This crew of cyborgs journeys all over the universe exploring strange worlds”
Very innovative ideas for 1932!
