1. Concept art by Jack Kirby for a movie adaptation of Lord of Light, by Roger Zelazny.  The producer even dreamed of creating a theme park (third picture).

The movie was never made, but the CIA used the script and the art to give more credibility to the production of the fake sci-fi movie Argo, a cover for a secret rescue operation during the Iran hostage crisis.   Pictures via capnscomics.  A good article about the role of the Kirby art in the operation here.

The film Argo (2012) is inspired from these events.  Michael Parks plays the role of Jack Kirby.
